The weather is growing warmer and another amazing ski season is coming to an end, but the party isn't quite over yet. North Star Days was held on Saturday, March 29 at Kimberley Alpine Resort. Skiers and boarders, dressed in their finest retro neon snowsuits, hit the slopes for the second last weekend of the season.

The warm above-zero temperatures and bright spring sunshine provided the perfect sweater weather ski day. The snow was sticky and bare patches of ground were just beginning to appear. The day began at 10 a.



m. with a guided history tour of the mountain. Not long after, a beer garden and barbecue started up in the Plaza with DJ tunes pumping through the speakers.

Over in the kid’s zone, youngsters enjoyed activities like helmet decorating and face painting. Kimberley's beloved dog fashion show returned to the hill again this year, with prizes for Best Dressed Dog and Dog Trick contest. Skiers caught some serious air at the mogul track and banked slalom run, and athletes executed their most graceful "tour en l'air" at the Ski and Board Ballet Competition.

Tryg Strand & The Band got the crowd dancing in the afternoon around 3 p.m., with a mixture of originals and covers of indie folk and Latin-esque music.

Awards were presented during the concert intermission for the Mogul and Banked Slalom competitions, as well as awards for best dressed, big hair and best goggle tan. Next week is the grande finale of the season, with Spring Splash on Saturday, April 5, and the ico.
