The fashionable hostelry in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, has already hosted Judi Dench, Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Colman and Rita Ora. And now Hollywood A-lister Margot Robbie looks set to become a regular, with villagers convinced she has bought a £500,000 holiday home near the hotel. The Fife Arms hit the headlines this year when well-heeled visitors racked up a £159,000 bar bill in one night as they sank rare drams in Bertie's Bar, named in honour of Queen Victoria's eldest son, King Edward VII.
King Charles had previously attended the official reopening of the hotel near Balmoral Castle after a multi-million pound refurbishment by Swiss art collectors Iwan and Manuela Wirth, with two Picassos and a Brueghel hanging in its public rooms. BrewDog multi-millionaire James Watt, 42, and former Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo, 30, are currently spending their honeymoon in the hotel, where the luxury suites can cost £3,000 a night. Australian actress Ms Robbie –whose father Doug is Scottish –visited Braemar last year and said she had eavesdropped on a stag party as they discussed whether to see Barbie, which made £1 billion at the box.
