KIDDERMINSTER Harriers breezed past the challenge of mid-table Peterborough Sports with a 3-0 win at Aggborough Stadium. Phil Brown’s men were far from at their slick best against the Turbines but managed to win at a canter nonetheless thanks to goals from rare sources. Both Zak Brown and Tope Obadeyi last scored for the Reds in the Boxing Day crushing of rivals Hereford but have been shy of the action in the final third since.

The pair ended those droughts on Saturday, with Brown’s second half brace ending a 19-match run without a goal for the former West Bromwich Albion youngster. Harriers went into the game making one change to the starting eleven; Obadeyi’s inclusion after Reece Devine failed to pass a late fitness test. The experienced forward might’ve opened the scoring for the side after just nine minutes but saw a goal-bound effort cleared off the line.



He was denied for just seven minutes, though, as he stooped to meet Dave Worrall’s inviting cross into the box with a downward header that looped over the dive of James Pardington and into the net. The goal did little to revive a strangely subdued first half showing for the home side, Harriers going close to a second on 28 minutes when Ashley Hemmings powered over the bar.
