Held under the leadership of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Ègbáliganza is not just a showcase of Egba fashion, it is a movement to reignite the creative economy of the Egba people and present it to the world. Speaking ahead of the event in Abeokuta on Saturday, Chief Lai Labode, Osi Apagun of Egbaland and the visioner of Ègbáliganza, unveiled the transformative agenda behind the initiative.
Labode told the media that Ègbáliganza was designed to stimulate the Egba fashion and textile market, which is currently estimated at $1 billion. He noted that Ègbáliganza repositions Egbaland as a global hub for authentic African fashion, equipping local designers, artisans, and textile entrepreneurs with the tools and visibility they needed to thrive on the world stage.
