DICKINSON — The Dickinson State men's wrestling team faced off against Minot State in an exciting senior night dual at home, showcasing both competition and a heartfelt farewell to their senior athletes. Despite a strong showing in several matches, the Blue Hawks were ultimately outmatched, falling 37-11. The night kicked off with a competitive heavyweight match where junior Seth Suvak (197) of Dickinson State went up against Jake Swirple.

Suvak battled hard but ultimately fell 11-4. The Blue Hawks then got a boost from junior Wyatt Engwicht at 125 pounds, who pinned Dylan McDonald from Minot State in just 1:35, earning a quick 6 points. ADVERTISEMENT However, Minot State came back strong in the following bouts, with DSU forfeiting at 133 pounds.



The next few matches saw Minot State take control, with Adrian Chavez pinning senior Edrich Nortje (0:45) at 141 pounds, and Ethan Wonser defeating senior Caleb Nielsen , 6-3, at 149 pounds. The next two matches ended in similar fashion for the Blue Hawks as Ryan Hrcka defeated Ian Mehrens via fall (4:24) at 157 pounds, the 165 pound bout saw Brendan Barnes defeat sophomore Cutter Jones by means of a 5-4 decision. The Blue Hawks did manage to secure a big win at 184 pounds, with Jackson King earning a 20-3 technical fall over Dom Howlett, putting 5 points on the board.

But Minot State kept their momentum rolling, with a fall at 197 pounds as senior Samuel Adams succumbed to Cannon Potts. The dual ended with an exhibition match betw.
