Dune: Part Two , the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 sci-fi blockbuster release in UK cinemas on 1 March, was filmed in various locations across Jordan, Hungary, Italy and Abu Dhabi. The film, based as its predecessor was, on the 60s Frank Herbert novel and set in the fictional desert planet of Arrakis, features a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet , Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Austin Butler , Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem , Stellan Skarsgård and Christopher Walken . In its opening weekend, it reached a whopping $178.

Where was Dune 2 filmed? Dune: Part Two is reported to have used 40 per cent more sets than the first instalment, as well as filming on location in Italy, Abu Dhabi and Jordan . The sprawling landscapes of Jordan, which were also used extensively in Part One , provided numerous backdrops for the sequel, including Wadi Rum, the Unesco World Heritage site also known as Valley of the Moon, and the Al-Siq gorge near Wadi Araba. Liwa Oasis, which lies on the edge of Rub’ Al Khali – the world’s largest stretch of uninterrupted desert – about 150 kilometres south-west of Abu Dhabi and four hours’ drive from Dubai, was a new spot for Dune: Part Two .
