WATERLOO — A third person has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a teenager at a Waterloo hotel in 2018. On Jan. 23, police arrested Johnny Edwards Jackson, 35, of Waterloo, on a warrant for one count of third-degree sexual abuse.
He was also detained on a bench warrant for missing a court date in a pending 2019 burglary case. Bond was set at $37,000. Authorities allege Jackson was one of four men who brought two 15-year-old girls to a downtown hotel room and provided them with alcohol in May 2018.
One of the suspects, Robert Deon Washington, pleaded to sexual abuse charges and was sentenced to prison. He has since been released. Another, 37-year-old Curtis Lloyd, disappeared until he was found in Arizona in 2024.
He was found guilty of two counts of third-degree sexual abuse during an October trial. Jackson also is awaiting trial for allegedly breaking into a West 11th Street home and attacking his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend with a knife Aug. 3, 2019.
