Sarah Jessica Parker has shared a rare insight into her married life with Hollywood star Matthew Broderick. The Sex in the City star was introduced to Matthew in 1991. He was directing a play at the time for the Naked Angels Theater Company, which was founded by Sarah’s brothers Pippin and Toby.

The pair tied the knot in 1997, with Sarah breaking bridal tradition by opting for a black wedding dress. The couple had invited 100 guests to New York's Angel Oresanz Synagogue under the guise of a party, only to reveal it was their wedding. The couple have remained strong since, sharing son James, 22, and 15-year-old twin daughters Tabitha and Marion together.

Having turned 60 last week, Sarah has now revealed the secret to their lasting union. When asked if there was a secret to their lasting love, Sarah told Hello magazine : “Probably that I don’t talk about it. It really is a secret.

“But maybe it’s because we’re not a Hollywood couple. We live in New York - maybe that’s good.” When asked about their relationship, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star Matthew once said: “I don't know the secret at all, but I, you know, I'm very grateful and I love her.

It's amazing. I mean, I can't believe that it's been that long. It doesn't feel like it.

" In an interview with the New York Times in 1996, Sarah explained Matthew originally asked her out over voicemail. She explained: “He left a very charming, very self-effacing message on the machine. “You know, 'Hi, it's Matthew .
