Sainsbury's has been hit by "technical issues affecting some stores" and impacting its ability to fulfil the "vast majority" of online deliveries today. Sainsbury's said it was "experiencing technical issues affecting some stores, our Groceries Online service and our ability to contact customers". "Unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfil the vast majority of today's Groceries Online deliveries," they added.

"We will contact customers proactively to rebook orders as soon as we can," they said. The supermarket also assured customers their personal data "will still be safe and secure even with the issues going on". It warned: "We're experiencing technical issues affecting some stores, our Groceries Online service and our ability to contact customers.



Unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfil the vast majority of today's Groceries Online deliveries. We are working hard to fix the issue and apologise to our customers for the inconvenience. We will contact customers proactively to rebook orders as soon as we can.

A shopper wrote back to say: "Proactively contacting customers?? Sat on hold for over an hour to find out what’s happening with my order, no hold music so not even sure sat in a queue. Three weeks I’ve had issues with amending orders, all seems slightly coincidental.
