United Airlines is facing a lawsuit after a 20-year-old passenger claims he was forcibly removed from a bathroom mid-flight and wrongfully arrested, resulting in painful injuries and missed connectionsA 20-year-old man from the United States has filed a lawsuit against United Airlines, accusing a pilot of having him arrested after forcibly removing him from the airplane’s restroom while his pants were still down, claiming he took too long. Yisroel Liebb, from New Jersey, was on a flight from Mexico to Texas when the incident occurred. According to the New York Post, Liebb went to the restroom about 30 minutes into the flight.
When he did not return to his seat after 20 minutes, his seatmate, Jacob Sebbag, expressed concern and notified the flight crew. A flight attendant then knocked on the bathroom door, and Liebb explained he was “experiencing constipation” and would emerge shortly.Arrest and Alleged MistreatmentUpon landing, both Liebb and Sebbag were arrested by five US Customs and Border Protection agents.
The lawsuit alleges that Liebb was placed in excessively tight handcuffs, which caused him to cry out in pain. The two men were taken to an airport detention facility before being released without charges. However, the delay caused them to miss their connecting flight to New York.
