Friday, March 21, 2025 India’s tourism sector is set for a monumental shift towards sustainability as the 2nd Tourism Sustainability Summit 2025 takes center stage on March 26 at Sovereign Hall, Hotel Le-Meridien in New Delhi. Organized by the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), and the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI), the event is poised to become a critical platform for advancing eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices in India. Mainstreaming Sustainability in Tourism: A Global and Local Agenda Themed “Mainstreaming Sustainability in Tourism,” the summit will focus on both the global and local dimensions of sustainable tourism, a sector that has seen increasing demand in recent years.
The event will bring together policymakers, sustainability experts, and industry leaders to chart actionable strategies that will define the future of India’s tourism landscape. Esteemed dignitaries, such as Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Mr.
Suman Billa, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, will set the tone for the discussions, underlining the government’s commitment to fostering a sustainable tourism sector in India.
