Speaking at his party's general council meeting, Vijay criticized the central government on issues like delimitation, language policy, and NEP, and voiced strong opposition to central schemes impacting the state. NEW DELHI: Actor-politician Vijay issued a strong statement on Friday over Centre's one nation one election initiative, cautioning about Tamil Nadu's historical ability to respond to challenges.

"PM sir, we understand your plans when you spoke about one nation, one election. Sir (PM Modi), handle Tamil Nadu carefully. Tamil Nadu is a state which has shown its power many times.

Vijay made the statement during the first-ever general council meeting of his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, which completed its first anniversary on February 26.
