The Panini Bar Gourmet Market in Morley has been crowned winner of the 2025 Best Continental Roll award. The deli’s conti rolls received the judges’ choice award at the Subi Spritz festival, a food festival held annually at the Subiaco Hotel. The panel of judges considered flavour, quality and authenticity when crowning the winner.
Husband and wife Linda and Colin Turnbull run the award-winning continental deli, which has been in operation for almost six years. Ms Turnbull said the award helped staff morale and confirmed that they were doing things right. “A conti roll is a really biased thing — everyone has their own take.
But we just focus on keeping it fresh, using premium products and making everything we love,” Ms Turnbull said. The Turnbull family’s Italian heritage forms the foundation of the deli and Ms Turnbull’s parents own the butcher shop next door, which has been operating for more than 40 years. “We wanted to do something that really complemented Mum and Dad’s products and what they do.
It feels like one space, like a family,” Ms Turnbull said. Italian food traditions have played a major role in their business, with family recipes being passed down and perfected over time. “We have always grown up with making our own antipasto and melanzane — it’s a mix of everything we love and what we’ve grown up with,” Ms Turnbull said.
“Our ‘Uncle Jonnie’s Hot Melanzane Mix’ is all made with fresh veggies, all cut by hand and goes throug.
