The Barrow Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) shared on Monday (January 27) that they have received reports of an uptick in recent activity in Barrow Park. This has largely involved young people said to be using motorised off-road bikes in a 'dangerous manner and putting the public at risk'. "This afternoon and evening [on January 27], Sergeant Dilks, PC Dixon, PC Herron and PCSO Jones have teamed up with our Road Policing Unit colleagues to continue Operation Leopard, which was successful in 2024 in taking these bikes off the road. "This involves both high visibility and covert patrols in and around the park, allowing us to identify and safely apprehend those responsible for riding dangerously and irresponsibly." The increase in incidents comes at a time when antisocial behaviour across the county has been reduced, on average, by 39.
