Snoopy has long been more than just a comic strip character, he’s a global fashion icon . A new exhibition in Paris, Snoopy in Style , explores how the beloved Peanuts beagle has captured the hearts of designers from streetwear brands to high fashion houses. A fashionable tribute to a timeless character Held at the Hotel du Grand Veneur in the stylish Marais district, the exhibition celebrates 75 years of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the Peanuts gang.
The showcase, running from March 22 to April 5, highlights Snoopy’s evolution from a simple black-and-white sketch to a pop culture phenomenon embraced by luxury fashion. “Since we’re celebrating our 75th anniversary this year, we thought it would be fun to highlight the brand’s long-standing connection with fashion. And where better than Paris?” Melissa Menta from Peanuts Worldwide was quoted as saying in an AFP report.
This exhibition adds to the city’s thriving fashion scene, joining other high-profile showcases such as Louvre Couture and Dolce & Gabbana at the Grand Palais. From comic strip to couture The exhibition delves into Charles Schulz’s meticulous approach to character design, ensuring each Peanuts figure was simple yet instantly recognisable. Originally, Charlie Brown wore a plain white t-shirt, but Schulz later introduced his signature zigzag-striped sweater, a design choice that became a defining element of Peanuts’ aesthetic.
However, the exhibition’s most fascinating section explore.
