Sahil Shukla reportedly misused Muskan's husband's money for gambling, drugs, and luxury trips before brutally killing him. Now in jail, the duo is experiencing severe drug withdrawal symptoms. As new details in the Meerut murder case continue to be uncovered, a report has suggested that Sahil Shukla, Muskan Rastogi’s lover, used to gamble on her husband Saurabh Rajput’s money.
Quoting sources in the police department, the Hindustan Times reported that Sahil used to bet on cricket matches using the victim’s money, and used the winnings to fund a lavish lifestyle for himself and Muskan. Sahil placed his bets through bookies, the identities of whom are currently under investigation, the report quoted sources as saying. Further, the money he won was used to fund his trips to Rishikesh and Dehradun with Muskan .
The report also quoted Sahil’s neighbours as claiming that he had no regular job and hence no fixed source of income, and that he heavily relied on gambling earnings to sustain. Quoting police sources, the report claimed that Saurabh used to send nearly Rs 1 lakh to Muskan every month to manage her and their daughter’s expenses. Subsequently, she would inform Sahil about the same, who then used to place bets using the money.
