BARRE – A take-charge mentality in the offensive zone helped Spaulding’s Aubrey Tremblay and Ally French showcase their nose for the net during Saturday’s 3-1 girls hockey victory over the Kingdom Blades. Tremblay and French each recorded one goal and one assist, allowing the Crimson Tide to improve to 10-1-1 while snapping a two-game winless streak. "That's two games in a row where Ally French and Aubrey Tremblay played a physical game around the net and they both got rewarded with goals," Spaulding coach Dave Lawrence said.

Spaulding built a 2-0 lead in the first period, with Tremblay scoring off a rebound in front of the net before Parker added a power-play goal by firing a loose puck into the back of the goal. French and Mary Yacavoni assisted Tremblay with 8:37 on the clock for the 1-0 advantage before Gracie Lunt and Jaylin Akers assisted Parker with 2:04 left in the period. "We had a very strong first period and it felt like we could have popped a few more in,” Lawrence said.

“But overall it was a great start to the game." Leah West scored on a rebound during a power play for the Kingdom Blades with 4:29 remaining in the middle period, thanks to assists by Isabel Gaudreau and Gabby Griffith. French pushed the Tide in front by two goals again with 5:16 left in the final period on assists from Akers and Tremblay.

“Ally took a defender wide and drove hard to the net,” Lawrence said. Tide goalie Gabrielle Bock wound up with nine saves, while Madisson Colby tu.
