Four of the five most expensive Vancouver houses for sale are all on the same street
Home prices may be slipping across British Columbia and Greater Vancouver, but some notable real estate exceptions can be found throughout the city.In fact, one Vancouver street boasts the majority of the priciest houses currently on the market, and you’ll have to open your wallet a little wider to afford them.According to online real estate marketplace Real Estate Wire (REW), four of the five most expensive houses for sale in Vancouver are located on Belmont Avenue in Point Grey.It should come as no surprise as the neighbourhood is also home to Chip Wilson’s Vancouver property, which is now valued at over $82 million, with Point Grey Road previously named one of B.C.’s most expensive streets.Here are the five most expensive houses currently for sale in Vancouver. Mind the sticker shock.#5 – 4788 BELMONT AVE., VANCOUVER: $28,888,000The fifth most expensive Vancouver house currently on the market is described as a “prestigious Point Grey Estate” on the high side of Belmont Ave.With seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 10,548 sq ft of space, to say there is ample space in this mansion would be an understatement.The home, listed by Westside Tom Gradecak Realty, features a grand foyer with twin circular staircases and Italian marble. There is also an indoor swimming pool and spa, theatre, and entertainment suites to spend your time in as well.#4 – 4755 BELMONT AVE., VANCOUVER: $30,000,000According to REW and other real estate listing platforms, 4755 Belmont Ave. is a 2,000-square-foot home built on a 55,757-square-foot lot.The listing by Macdonald Realty states that the existing property is a heritage house built in 1951 and that the property is tenanted. It’s listed for $30,000,000 and has an assessed value of $24,499,600. $24,423,000 of that is the land value, with the buildings having a value of $76,600.“For those with a vision for development, this property also presents the unique opportunity to combine with neighbouring 4769 Belmont Ave. (also listed on MLS) for even greater potential,” the listing adds.#3 – 5747 NEWTON WYND, VANCOUVER: $31,770,000Breaking the streak of Point Grey homes on the most expensive houses for sale list is a newly built luxury estate in the University Endowment Lands.The listing by Dracco Pacific Realty describes the nine-bedroom, 12-bathroom house as being designed with privacy in mind, with no neighbouring house to the north.The 14,720 sq ft home offers views of the mountains and the oceans from all three levels as well as a backyard that is set away from Marine Drive for a peaceful outdoor setting.#2 – 4769 BELMONT AVE., VANCOUVER: $32,000,000Coming in at number two is a 640-square-foot property on a massive 60,504-square-foot lot.4769 Belmont Ave. was built in 2022, is currently tenanted, and is being billed as a unique opportunity to combine with 4755 Belmont Ave., which is the fourth most expensive house in the city.This property is listed by Macdonald Realty for $32,000,000. The home also offers views of the ocean, mountains, and the city. The main floor also features an Italian marble floor.On BC Assessment’s 2024 list of most valuable properties, this Belmont Avenue mansion ranks in the top 10 at #7.
