Flights between the UAE and London Heathrow have resumed following a temporary suspension due to a fire incident. Dubai-based Emirates and Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways have confirmed that they are gradually restoring their flight schedules to the UK’s busiest airport.

Heathrow temporarily closed on March 21 after a fire at Terminal 2, which resulted in significant operational delays. Emergency teams responded quickly to the incident, and while no injuries were reported, several flights were either delayed or cancelled, disrupting travel for thousands, including those from the UAE. After the airport’s reopening, Emirates announced that it would resume operations, with the first flight being EK07 from Dubai International (DXB) to Heathrow (LHR) on March 22.

Passengers with existing bookings can continue with their travels, while those affected by cancellations are encouraged to contact their booking agents or Emirates for rebooking assistance. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways confirmed it would also begin returning to a full flight schedule between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Heathrow from March 22. The airline has advised travelers to check their flight statuses via its website and update their contact information in the “Manage Your Booking” portal for timely updates.
