Yasmeen Nazir, played by Shelley King, exited the programme on Monday evening (March 10). Shelly and her character joined the show all the way back in 2014 and were at the centre of a number of major storylines, including a recent one about coercive control. In her final scenes, which aired earlier this week, Yasmeen departed Weatherfield to pursue a new job in London.
However, despite a fairly optimistic send-off, fans were left unhappy by her exit from the soap opera, according to . Taking to social media, one fan said: "Poor Yasmeen. One decent storyline a few years ago, then hardly anything.
"Shelley is a decent actress who deserved better." Another added: "Yes a low-key exit for Yasmeen. She deserved better.
So did Helen Worth." A third person wrote: "I think Yasmeen deserved a better exit than she was given. It all seemed so rushed! "From first mention of the job in London to actually leaving in a taxi was spread over about two episodes! "The current writers and the producer are so clumsy and they couldn’t care less.
" Another viewer wrote: "Farewell Yasmeen! I think she deserved a better exit than the usual soap trope of getting a job offer and packing your life away in the space of an episode! "Would have liked to have seen another appearance of Ghost Geoff too! Hope she pops back for a visit sometime!".
