Shelly and her character joined the show all the way back in 2014 and were at the centre of a number of major storylines, including a recent one about coercive control. In her final scenes, which aired earlier this week, Yasmeen departed Weatherfield to pursue a new job in London.
However, despite a fairly optimistic send-off, fans were left unhappy by her exit from the soap opera, according to . Taking to social media, one fan said: "Poor Yasmeen. One decent storyline a few years ago, then hardly anything.
"Shelley is a decent actress who deserved better." Another added: "Yes a low-key exit for Yasmeen. She deserved better.
So did Helen Worth." A third person wrote: "I think Yasmeen deserved a better exit than she was given. It all seemed so rushed! "From first mention of the job in London to actually leaving in a taxi was spread over about two episodes! "The current writers and the producer are so clumsy and they couldn’t care less.
" Another viewer wrote: "Farewell Yasmeen! I think she deserved a better exit than the usual soap trope of getting a job offer and packing your life away in the space of an episode! "Would have liked to have seen another appearance of Ghost Geoff too! Hope she pops back for a visit sometime!".
