The half-hour show came under fire after it emerged that Wynne had made a lewd comment to Janette Manrara during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour kick-off in Birmingham earlier in the month. Frustration mounted among the BBC audience who objected to the network going ahead with airing the show, flooding social media with their dissatisfaction; some even vowed to shun any future broadcasts linked to Wynne in the future. One viewer wrote on X: "Just a thought BBC, but maybe this Wynne Evans #AllAtSea prime time claptrap could have been postponed for a while?" Another added: "Wynne Evans.

In response to the controversy on Monday, Wynne issued a public apology, saying: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.
