Saturday, February 1, 2025 The AHLA Foundation raised over $1M at its annual gala, supporting workforce development and disaster relief efforts. The AHLA Foundation raised over $1 million during its annual Night of a Thousand Stars gala, held last night at the Beverly Hilton. More than 400 hospitality industry leaders gathered to celebrate excellence in the field, with proceeds going toward workforce development programs for hotel employees.

This year’s event carried special meaning as the industry rallied to support Los Angeles’ recovery from recent wildfires. Contributions were made to the Red Cross and the LA Fire Department Foundation, with AHLA and the AHLA Foundation pledging $10,000 toward disaster relief efforts. Additionally, AHLA committed to matching up to $25,000 in donations from its members.



Each year, Night of a Thousand Stars honors exceptional contributions within hospitality, awarding five prestigious recognitions. The 2025 award recipients include: AHLA’s 2025 Stars of the Industry Award Winners North Star: Lodging Employee of the Year Melvin De La Cruz, Assistant to Director of HR, The Park Vista, a DoubleTree by Hilton AHLA Foundation ForWard: Paving the Way Award Whitney Bergmann, General Manager, Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn Stevan Porter Emerging Hospitality Leader of the Year Nicole Harker, Front Office Manager, Amara Resort & Spa Hotel Hero Jessica Dunnihoo, Executive Housekeeper, Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center AHLA Fou.
