A unique and quirky Pembrokeshire restaurant, bar and music venue has reopened again after a three-month break. is located in the old St Mary’s Church Hall building. The old hall is decorated with spring green murals capturing the beauty of Pembrokeshire’s hedgerows painted by muralist and artist Sarah Pratt.

Candles, jam jar lights and pendants hand over an array of vintage tables, chairs and pews and the hall’s old piano has been deconstructed and used as a room divider. Where the stage that saw countless Christmas plays used to sit is a huge wood fired pizza oven where pizzas and other delicacies are made in the evening. A stage new at the far end of the hall hosts musicians from far and wide and in the winter a massive log burner keeps things warm.

Ffwrn is known as one of the venues from the Aberjazz Fishguard Jazz and Blues Festival and provides a perfect backdrop for the festival. I have seen nights with people dancing on the tables sometimes joined by musicians. As well as the jazz festival, the venue hosts an array of music events.

Its opening night saw the singer and guitarist Chris Kelly open the evening while newly formed Latin, jazz and blues six piece Trwbadwr closed the evening with a great blend of tunes that soon filled the dancefloor. Coming up later this year music wise is: Cadence Acoustic, on Friday, April 18; Rhi Jorj and Band with Billy Thompson on April, Saturday 19 and the Hideaway Trio on April 25, all at 7.30pm.

In May there is Spangleland at .
