Sue Cleaver has sparked speculation about a possible return to the soap after reuniting with several of her former co-stars for a relaxed lunch outing. The actress, best known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street, shared an Instagram video of her catching up with familiar faces from the popular soap. These included Catherine Tyldesley, Tina O’Brien, Julia Goulding, Georgia Taylor and Alison King. Daniel Brocklebank was also in attendance, despite his character recently being written out of the show. Ms Cleaver captioned the post: “Sunday well spent with the Corrie collective.” Fans were quick to react, with many delighted to see the cast reunited. One fan wrote: "Awww... it's so nice to see all of you together!" Another added: "Wonderful! So lovely you all get together." "Beautiful people," wrote a third fan, as a fourth penned: "That's lovely to see everyone off work and having fun." Another wrote: "Is this a hint..." The actress stepped away from the long-running ITV soap in June 2025 after more than two decades in the role. Her character left to start a new life in Thailand with her son, Jason, following the end of her relationship with George Shuttleworth. At the time, Ms Cleaver made it clear her exit was not necessarily permanent. The soap star said she was ready for new opportunities while keeping the door open for a potential comeback. Since leaving the cobbles, she has remained busy, appearing regularly on Loose Women and taking on a range of new projects. She has also performed on stage in Sister Act The Musical, released her memoir A Work In Progress, and made her pantomime debut in Beauty & The Beast. Reports have also suggested Ms Cleaver is set to appear on an upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef, marking another high-profile TV role since her departure from the soap.
