The kerfuffle surrounding insecticide spraying reminds me of visiting Jim Hamm park with my wife and children in or around 1989. Back then, Jim Hamm park was truly a place of natural beauty with water lilies, frogs, turtles and cattails. While we were enjoying the peaceful serenity of the pond, a small airplane arrived and began spraying the corn field across the road. Suddenly, swallows began falling out of the sky, plopping dead on the ground around us.
