Australian Olympic gold medallist Brianna Throssell has announced her retirement from swimming after teasing the decision in an emotional interview just hours after her Paris 2024 triumph . The 29-year-old stood on an Olympic podium for the first time when she teamed up with Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister and Ariarne Titmus to win the 4x200m freestyle relay . The gold took Throssell’s Olympic medal haul to four after she left Tokyo in 2021 with a gold and two bronze for relay heat swims.
