In true Yellowjackets fashion, Season 3 leaves us with a web of unanswered questions, and one of the most tantalizing is the mystery of Shauna's tape. For quite some time, its contents have eluded us, but with answers slowly emerging, it's time to dive into what's really on it.Be warned: major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 6 are ahead.
Yellowjackets Season 3 Shauna's tape, explainedAt the beginning of Season 3, Shauna gets a mysterious tape that Callie so cleverly hides from her until Episode 6. Van, Taissa, and Shauna listen to it through an old DAT player to uncover its secrets. We can hear a woman saying, "What is this?" followed by the sound of the Yellowjackets singing.
Once you get to the end of the episode, you'll see that it is a recording from a hiker.Screenshot via Yellowjackets Twitter/XIf you compare the recording from the tape with Episode 6's ending, it sounds exactly the same. You can even hear Lottie screaming, "No!" proving that hikers captured this exact moment.
Moreover, one of the hikers seems to be carrying a recorder with him, which may be the same tape. But now the question remains: Who sent this tape, and why did they solely send it to Shauna? I have a high suspicion that it wasn't the hikers since I honestly don't think they have any chance of living at this point. After all, they just saw the Yellowjackets frolicking around while Couch Ben's head was on a silver platter.
The team will likely turn on them to keep them from talking, meaning.
