Market Street, Westhoughton, 1966 (Picture: Newsquest) In the centre of the picture you can see a large white building with the sign ‘Casino Club’ which hosted live bands and was a key player on the local entertainment scene. Originally the Empire Cinema it would later become the Gaiety Club and then a snooker hall.
