Thrillseekers have been able to enjoy a number of new attractions at Alton Towers in the past few years, with 2023 seeing The Curse At Alton Manor introduces, in 2024 the season was launched with a huge revamp of iconic coaster Nemesis. Lots of things have changed at the Staffordshire resort in recent years and if you haven't been for a while, you may not know where to start. Thankfully, BirminghamLive's Steve Wollaston , has reviewed every single attraction at the Merlin run theme park.

Here is what he thought of them. NEW! Nemesis Reborn The beast is back, and indeed the best is back. I’ve sat on it as a teenager with mates, dragged my wife on it countless times, and it’s been a rite of passage for my three children.



And so many times I have just stood there and watched it, soaring through the sky like an engineering work of art. Nemesis is widely regarded and continuously voted as one of the world’s best steel roller coasters. I have been on coasters on different continents, and this holds its own with them all.

It is in my opinion the best ride in this country, and I would also suggest Europe. It’s quite odd for a 47-year-old man to be emotional about a theme park ride, but it means so much to me, it’s always been there, always been awesome, and it never disappoints. I worked out that I’d probably averaged about 8 rides a season, making it roughly 230 rides on Nemesis since it opened.

Of course, some enthusiasts probably do that in one season. In fact 52 milli.
