Ludhiana: Irked over frequent opposition in rural constituencies, Bhartiya Janata Party candidate from Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat Ravneet Singh Bittu got emotional and reminded villagers and farmers how he had supported the protest against farm laws and never let an FIR get registered against any villager. Bittu told villagers that if they wanted their villages , city and state to grow, they should support him as he will bridge all gaps among the farmers of Punjab and central govt. Bittu has been facing opposition from farmer groups in the villages of Dakha, Gill and Jagraon.

Recently, he had to return even without attending events planned by the party in Jagraon when farmers started opposing his visit near the venue. On Wednesday, Bittu, through social media, appealed to people living in villages, especially sarpanches and panches, to support him and told them that he stood with them through the thick and thin. “Without caring for hot, cold or rainy weather, I slept on the footpath for over one year in Delhi to support farmers of my state against farm laws,” he said.

He asked villagers whether leaders of present AAP govt or previous Cong govt turned up to become a part of that protest. He said he was pained to see that those who never bothered about farmers or other villagers, were allowed to enter villages and they were campaigning there. Bittu asked villagers why they were against PM Narendra Modi when all funds came from the central government and it was due to Modi that.
