New Delhi: Even as Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a “spotter” involved in the attack at a car showroom in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar on Monday, another car dealer in west Delhi received an extortion call allegedly from Europe-based gangster Himanshu Bhau. Bhau demanded Rs 2 crore as “protection money” from the businessman and threatened to eliminate him if the money was not paid. “The businessman, who deals in used luxury cars in Naraina, received the call from a foreign number on his WhatsApp.

He is known to the owners of Fusion Cars, where the previous shooting incident occurred,” a source said, adding that they were now probing the role of an insider or a cop who may be giving tip-offs to the gangsters. Meanwhile, the spotter arrested for allegedly firing at Fusion Cars in Tilak Nagar was identified as Ketan. He was riding the bike from which two shooters fled the scene.



He was produced before a magistrate and taken into custody on remand for four days. Raids are being conducted to apprehend others. Speaking to reporters, the spotter in custody claimed that he had received instructions from gangster Himanshu Bhau to carry out the task.
