A retail giant is set to open its first store in Pembrokeshire , it has been confirmed. Discount store The Range will open a new dog-friendly unit, complete with garden centre, in Haverfordwest. It will be located in the town’s Springfield Retail Park on Fishguard Road at the site of the former Homebase store, which was one of several stores taken over in 2024 by CDS Superstores - the owners of The Range and Wilko - after Homebase went into administration.

More than 50 locations are set to be transformed into The Range by the end of May, with the plan being to integrate Homebase garden centres into the new stores. For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here . Currently, The Range has two units in the Swansea area and one in Neath, Llanelli and Carmarthen , but nothing further west.



That is set to change when the Haverfordwest store opens on April 25. A statement from The Range said: “Our brand new dog friendly store is opening on Friday, April 25, in the former Homebase unit. Join us for our official store opening to be one of the first to have a look around the brand new store, shop our range of favourite products plus the new and exclusive Homebase Garden Centre, unmissable offers and much more.

” The company added that on opening day there will be goody bags for the first 50 people in the queue and the first five dogs in the store. Keep up to date with what's on where you live.
