Chandan Roy, who impressed the audiences with his fantastic performance as Vikas Shukla in the Amazon Prime Video series Panchayat, is all set for his big screen theatrical debut. The actor launched the poster of his upcoming film Tirichh: Portrait of A Dying Man in the national capital New Delhi on April 30. Also present were the filmmaker Sanjeev Jha and the acclaimed scholar an journalist Uday Prakash, on whose short story the film is being made.

Sanjeev Jha and Chandan Roy spoke to DNA for an exclusive chat about their upcoming film at the poster launch event. Tirichh, the name of the film itself arouses curiousity in one's mind. Sharing the meaning behind the same, Sanjeev said, "In reality, Tirichh is a monitor lizard.



There's a myth surrounding it that an individual can die if they are attacked by Tirichh. But, if we look at the overall story, Tirichh is a metaphor for an object of fear." When we asked Chandan why he agreed to come on board for Tirichh, he called himself "a greedy actor".

"Whenever a good story comes to you, you should jump for it and not let it go. I have read the short story multiple times in my childhood. There was no way I could have said no to this story.
