A Harveys pub in the centre of Lewes could be converted into a visitor centre. The plans for The John Harvey Tavern, opposite Harveys Brewery by the River Ouse, have been submitted to the South Downs National Park Authority. The change of use would see the ground floor of the pub transformed into a museum exhibit area, alongside a small retail space, reception, kitchen, storage, and toilet facilities.

The plans also include relocating the existing pub to a more prominent location within Cliffe High Street.



The new spot would reportedly offer more seating than the current layout of The John Harvey Tavern, in a bid to improve the overall facility. The proposals do not include any external alterations to the building.
