Bhubaneswar: Union minister and BJP nominee for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, Dharmendra Pradhan , on Wednesday said his party will regulate the sale of country liquor if voted to power in Odisha. “Many unlicensed companies are selling country liquor illegally. We will crack the whip on them and regulate the sale of country liquor,” Dharmendra told media persons after addressing a rally at Tileibani in Deogarh district.

Before speaking to the media, Dharmendra was heard addressing the gathering that if the BJP forms the govt in Odisha, it will impose prohibition in the state. However, minutes later, Dharmendra clarified that a complete ban on the sale of liquor is difficult. “Regulation of country liquor sale will help prevent atrocities on women and end corruption that is taking place in the name of revenue collection,” Dharmendra said.
