Manchester Airport has opened an attraction that's the first of its kind in the country. Thousands of passengers will be jetting off on from this summer. The majority of holidaymakers will arrive at the airport two hours before their flight, giving them time to check in and look around the airport.

People travelling from Terminal 1 will now be able to visit a new gaming point before their flights, where they can play their favourite games or try out a virtual reality escape room. The gaming point is described as an airport first in the UK and features gaming PCs loaded up with a range of games like Fortnite, Red Dead Redemption 2, Among Us, Hogwarts, Legacy, Minecraft and Rocket League. It also has a Formula 1 simulator - complete with steering wheel and pedals - as well as a Nintendo Switch.

Prices for a gaming session start at £7.50 for 30 minutes and vary depending on the experience you choose. Gaming Point is aimed at players of all ages, with age restrictions applying to particular games.

Richard Jackson, Manchester Airport retail director said: “It’s a really fun attraction for gamers and non-gamers alike, with a VR escape room, F1 simulator and gaming PCs, consoles and more. It means that if you’re a fan of computer games you’ll be able to come in and log on to play your favourite games like Fortnite and Among Us. "But even if you’re not, it gives a chance to enjoy a new and unique experience while you wait for your flight.
