A man was left gutted after being barred from a due to a spat over his medical vape. Jason Bryant from Caerau, Maesteg, was looking forward to visit a mate in Belfast and headed to Cardiff Airport to catch his flight. The 51-year-old had a work-related accident in 2016 which resulted in him having a number of long-term physical and mental health conditions.

"It's like being in a car crash. One day you're able to do everything and you're on top of the world and the next you can't kick a ball with your boy; it's hard to accept," he told Mr Bryant keeps his conditions in check with medicinal CBD and THC, puffed through an imported German vaporiser. "I don't leave the house without it," Mr Bryant said of the gadget.



"It's in my hand, it's in my pocket, I draw a great deal of strength from just having it. It's emotional support at the end of the day." On Wednesday, April 24, Mr Bryant found himself in a predicament at Cardiff Airport.

While being escorted to the tarmac in a wheelchair, he took out his vape in a waiting area. He claims he was then asked to surrender the device to the crew, with the understanding it would be returned at the captain's discretion. Aer Lingus, the airline involved, later stated that Mr Bryant was "welcome" to board the flight as long as he refrained from vaping during the journey.

However, they did not clarify whether he was required to physically hand over the vape. After a 45 minute delay, he decided not to board the flight without his vape. "I told .
