Fashion enthusiasts reluctant to fork out thousands of dollars on a designer piece can now find a $40 jacket from that fans claim to be the “perfect dupe” of similar versions costing upwards of $4,000. The budget retailer is now selling a cropped trench coat that looks almost identical to the Burberry and Loewe styles. The cheaper trench features a lapel neck, long raglan sleeves with a sleeve tab, a belt loop and a button closure as well as two side pockets.

Whereas, from Burberry comes in the colours honey and black for $3,350. The jacket’s outer lining is 100 per cent cotton while the buckles feature calf leather. The high-end brand said the jacket is inspired by its iconic trench and the design is cut to a relaxed fit.



Loewe sells its in cotton for $3,990 in the colour Kraft Beige. The designer jacket is crafted in lightweight water-repellent cotton drill. It features a relaxed fit, signature trench coat details, button front fastening and Loewe engraved horn buttons.

Whilst the designer jackets are made from higher quality materials, an Instagram post comparing the three jackets garnered many comments with people preferring the “I actually prefer the look of the Kmart one over the first two expensive ones,” said one. “I’d take the Kmart one over any of the others,” added a second. “I just bought the Kmart one, love it,” said a third.
