Hosts Kate Garraway and Robert Rinder delivered a devastating blow to NHS workers this morning as they halted Good Morning Britain. They shared that the government is making the biggest shake up to the health service in more than 10 years as the changes will leave thousands jobless. The presenters spoke into the camera as they shared that the Labour government has confirmed 9,500 jobs will be lost with the abolition of NHS England .

Kate explained: "In the biggest shake up for a decade, the Department of Health will take full control, promising to cut bureaucracy and regulation." Rob added: "Ministers say scrapping the organisation will free up hundreds of millions of pounds to spend on doctors and nurses and other front line services." The show then cut to newsreader Jonathan Swain, who was reporting live from a hospital.

He explained: "The move raises concerns about how the NHS will be run with the government having more direct control." GP Dr Amir Khan then appeared on screen to say: "Health and social care need to be integrated better, but what we can't have is healthcare decisions being driven by government and political policies. More money will help with waiting times, but again the devil will be in the details.
