The “world’s hottest gran” credits sleep as being a major factor for her age-defying looks and general wellbeing. Gina Stewart, 54, used to have regular sleepless nights but she claimed ditching clothes was transformative. And she believes there are distinct health benefits to throwing away your pyjamas.

The grandmother-of-three, who has modelled for Playboy, said: “My sleeping naked habit started many years back, tossing and turning at night and getting hot with restrictive clothing. It bothered me and induced so many restless sleepless nights. Since then I have never looked back and noticed I looked and felt so much better for it.



Sleeping naked makes me happier.” One of her idols, Marilyn Monroe, also once argued that sleeping naked was the key to good sleep, and she said: “I have never been able to wear pyjamas or creepy nightgowns; they disturb my sleep.” And, with it being World Sleep Day today (March 14), below we hear from Gina and experts about some of the supposed benefits of going commando at night.

Gina said she immediately noticed a difference in the quality of her sleep after trying something new. Pyjamas were causing her to overheat and she said a cooler temperature enhanced her natural sleep cycle. She explained: “By shedding your clothes, you allow your body to maintain a comfortable temperature, leading to deeper, more restorative sleep.

” And, according to physician Dr Kecia Gaither, Gina may have a point. She said: “Sleeping without clot.
