Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police have launched a probe after a video of an altercation outside the Central Railway Station went viral. City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated that a preliminary probe revealed that a couple had arrived from Chennai at 7.30am on Tuesday and two persons came to pick them up on a two-wheeler.

As per the current system at the railway station, parking is done at designated places and in front of the main gate, only pickup and drop-off are allowed without waiting for an extended time. It is learnt that there was a minor argument initially between Chandan, who reportedly takes care of parking and two persons who came to pick up the couple. Later, on witnessing the argument, two autorickshaw drivers intervened in support of Chandan, resulting in a further altercation as visible in the video, the commissioner said.

He said that the identity of the autorickshaw driver and passengers had been verified. Once verified, suitable action will be taken based on all available facts in the matter, Agrawal said. tnn We also published the following articles recently Woman who came under TMT bus dies in hospital, driver booked Surekha Khariwale, 55, died after a TMT bus accident.
