City BJP wants Modi, Shah, Manoj Tiwari to campaign

Chandigarh: The local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sent the list of star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi , home minister Amit Shah , UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, defence minister Rajnath Singh, Bhojpuri stars and politicians Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan, and a senior BJP leader from Himachal and Uttarakhand, to the party high command for consideration. The list of the star campaigners for Chandigarh has been prepared by the party’s local leadership. Moreover, as the election for the Chandigarh seat is in the last phase, the local unit is confident that the majority of the star campaigners would visit the city.

Sources in the BJP said: “We have started the preparation for major rallies or roadshows in terms of fulfilling the conditions required for grant of permission from the authorities concerned. We are very hopeful of organising a rally led by the Prime Minister in the city, besides ensuring the presence of other star campaigners in Chandigarh. Since the PM has an old connection with the city, we are quite hopeful that he will come to the city.
