A trio of bungling jewel thieves with terrible aim ended up running for their lives when the would-be victim fought back, then rammed one robber with his car, cops said. The victim refused to turn over his bling to three thieves who approached him outside a luxury apartment building in Williamsburg on Kent Avenue near South 8th Street around 7:40 p.m.

Tuesday, police said. One member of the trio demanded the victim’s jewelry as the two other members of the crew stood off to the side, cops said. Then the victim got inside his car – but the persistent crook refused to relent and again asked him to hand over the goods, police said.

That’s when one of the accomplices allegedly whipped out a gun and opened fire on the victim’s car but missed – and didn’t even cause any property damage, authorities said. The terrified victim then plowed over the would-be thief who had first confronted him about the jewelry as the others scurried away, cops said. Video from the immediate aftermath of the incident, posted on X by Williamsburg News , shows the wounded suspect lying in the middle of the street, next to a pool of blood, as members of the Jewish Hatzalah ambulance service, as well as the Shomrim patrol, cops and EMTs surrounded him.

That suspect was hospitalized with minor injuries, and upon release, was placed in police custody. Warning: Graphic content .⁦ @hatzalah ⁩ ⁦ @WspuShomrim ⁩ , ⁦ @NYPD90Pct ⁩ and EMS are on scene at Kent Ave & South 8th St for a shooting.
