Bobby Finster from Cave City was honored with the Individual Innovation in Tourism award at the 51st annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism last month. Finster was recognized for his efforts in promoting outdoor denture and community-driven tourism through his work cycling and running events like the White River Gravel Trail, Cave City Melon Grind, Sandtown Shuffle, Cave City Easter Run and Tour de Burt. Through these efforts, Finster has been able to draw in visitors to rural Arkansas which has boosted local economies and showcased the natural beauty of the region to many.

Along with race organizing, he has also played key roles in other major events such as the Arkansas Graveller and the Cave City Watermelon Festival. Additionally, Finster can be found at Poke Bayou Outfitters where he helps others gear up for their own outdoors experiences. His innovative approach to tourism blends community engagement with adventure, proving that small-town initiatives can have a big impact,” Chris Hill, the Director of Communications with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, said.
