Alan Titchmarsh didn't hold back as he aired his grievances about Grantchester, saying "it's awful" and revealing the detail that "drives him nuts". On the recent episode of Love Your Weekend on Sunday morning (March 23), Alan sat down with actors Tessa Peake-Jones and Rishi Nair to chat about the new series of the ITV detective drama that premiered last month. Set in the heart of Cambridgeshire, Grantchester follows Sidney Chambers (originally played by James Norton), a vicar turned sleuth, as he unravels various enigmas in the quaint village.

The character was later replaced by William Davenport (Tom Brittney), and more recently, former Hollyoaks actor Rishi joined the show as vicar Alphy Kotteram. Tessa portrays Sylvia Chapman, the pious housekeeper at the vicarage. During their conversation on today's Love Your Weekend, Alan didn't hesitate to point out a particular element of the show that consistently irks him, reports the Mirror .

"There's one thing about Grantchester that drives me nuts...

It's the blooming wisteria outside the vicarage, it's awful! It's false, it's artificial, it doesn't look real," he expressed his frustration. A puzzled Tessa inquired, "Why doesn't it look real to you?" to which Alan candidly responded, "You can tell it's not real." Tessa further questioned whether the general public would be able to discern this, prompting Alan to suggest that viewers would indeed notice.

"It's just like Bridgerton, it's awful," he continued, eliciting a reaction .
