Lenny Kravitz is giving a glimpse inside his humble abode in Paris. The rocker, 60, owns the grand mansion of Countess Anne d’Ornano (the widowed former mayor of Deauville), which he now calls "Hotel De Roxy" as a tribute to his mother, who wanted to live in Paris. He gave a tour of the property in a YouTube video for Architectural Digest .

Kravitz has lived in the property for 22 years and immediately fell in love with it when he walked through the front door. The entry hall includes a grand piano, which he helped design and is "really proud of." His studio, Kravitz Design, spearheaded the entire design of his home.

"This house continually pays tribute to my ancestors and as you'll see as we walk through the house there's photographs of them everywhere. Kravitz said he calls the inspiration for the home design "soulful elegance." "It's being elegant, sophisticated, but with soul, you know? With your heart [and] with your spirit," he said. "Because design and elegance without that feeling is just designer names and you know stuff.
